Sofia, November 24 (BTA) - The deposits of households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHs) stood at 44.08 billion leva (49.6 per cent of GDP) at the end of October, increasing by 6.3 per cent month-on-month and a 6.7 per cent year-on-year, the Bulgarian National Bank reported in a press release.

The non-government sector held deposits for 66.646 billion leva at the end of October (74.9 per cent of GDP), increasing annually by 8.3 per cent, the central bank said.
Deposits of non-financial corporations amounted to 18.881 billion leva (21.2 per cent of GDP) at the end of last month. Compared to the same month of the previous year, they have increased by 11 per cent. Deposits of financial corporations have increased by 20.7 per cent year-on-year in October, reaching 3.684 billion leva at the end of the month (4.1 per cent of GDP).

At the end of October 2016, claims on loans to the non-government sector amounted to 50.843 billion leva (57.2 per cent of GDP), compared to 50.354 billion leva (56.6 per cent of GDP) at the end of September 2016. They have increased annually by 1.1 per cent in October 2016.

Loans to non-financial corporations have increased this October by 0.03 per cent annually, reaching 30.832 billion leva at the end of the month (34.7 per cent of GDP).

Loans to households and NPISHs stood at 18.490 billion leva (20.8 per cent of GDP) at the end of October 2016. They have increased by 0.9 per cent compared to the same month of 2015. At the end of October 2016, loans for house purchases were 8.770 billion leva, having increased by 1 per cent annually. Consumer loans amounted to 7.325 billion leva, having decreased by 0.8 per cent year-on-year.
