TV Host Slavi Trifonov Submits Alerts about Referendum Irregularities to Prosecutor General

Sofia, December 5 (BTA) - TV host and election referendum initiator Slavi Trifonov on Monday handed to Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov alerts about irregularities at the November 6 referendum.

After the meeting with Tsatsarov, Trifonov said that the two had concurred on a number of issues. Trifonov said that Parliament should vote through the results in the referendum. He said that there was time but that the parties were reluctant.

"Parliament must heed to the will of the sovereign," said Trifonov.

The TV host said that the Central Election Commission and the political class had set a trap for the referendum in advance with 350,000 envelopes for the ballots that were not distributed.

He said that all parties should accept morally the results in the referendum. Trifonov said that the way Parliament voted the party subsidy was "disgusting" and asked rhetorically "What do you want me to do? To set myself on fire?"

Commentators' reactions against a majoritarian system were late by at least five years, said Trifonov. He added that these were people who were working under the political parties.

The chaos in the country is the work of the political class. "People said it clearly that they don't like this system. When the system changes, then the class will change too and more quality people will appear," said Trifonov.
