November 2016 Unemployment Remains Unchanged M/M - Statistics

Sofia, December 15 (BTA) - The level of registered unemployment in November remained unchanged at 7.9 per cent compared to the previous month, the Employment Agency said Thursday.

Year-on-year unemployment was 9.9 per cent in 2015.

At the end of November there were 257,980 unemployed registered at labour exchanges. Compared to October, their number has declined by 243. Compared to November 2015 the unemployed are considerably less (by 66,080).

A total of 21,443 unemployed were employed in November 2016, including 15,931 on the primary labour market. Those included in subsidized employment numbered 5,512, including 4,870 who have begun work under programmes and measures for employment. A total of 634 have been employed under schemes of OP Human Resources Development.

Labour exchanges offer 11,808 free jobs on the primary market, including 8,690 from the private sector, amounting to 73.6 per cent of all free jobs declared over the month.

Workforce in the private sector is mainly sought in the processing industry (4,109 jobs), trade (2,132), administrative and auxiliary activities (868), hotel accommodation and catering (702), transport, storage and postal services (556), state governance (478), education (458), real estate transactions (417), construction (391 ), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (321), financial and insurance activities (305).
