Police Officer, Four Drug Dealers Left in Custody by Rousse Court


Rousse, on the Danube, December 17 (BTA) - The Rousse District Court on Friday evening left in custody a police officer and another four men charged with drug dealing, said Rousse District Prosecutor, Georgi Georgiev.

The five men were detained during a special police operation in Rousse on Thursday and Friday.

The police officer has been charged with conveying classified information obtained through special surveillance means to the four suspects, thus compromising the police operation for their arrest. During their arrest, the police officer was found to be complicit and was held. He has an experience of over 20 years and has served on different police units.

Georgiev said that the investigation into the case continues and various locations throughout the city are being searched.

The five men may appeal the court decision within three days.
