Krassimir Angarski Elected as Member of  Development Bank Supervisory Board

Sofia, March 6 (BTA) - Financer Krassimir Angarski was elected as member of the Supervisory Board of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders, the Finance Ministry press centre said.

Angarski is replacing Kiril Ananiev, wo has been appointed as caretaker Finance Minister and does not have the right to hold concurrently a position within the BDB Supervisory Board, provided that the state, in the person of the Finance Ministry, holds 99.9 per cent of the capital of the Bank.

Associate Professor Krassimir Angarski was born in Sofia in 1953. In the March 24-May 21, 1997 period he was a Minister without portfolio at the cabinet of the then caretaker prime minister Stefan Sofiyanski and participated actively in the preparation of the currency board. He headed the group, which the drafted the currency board laws.

Later, Angarski was appointed as Economic Affairs Secretary of President Peter Stoyanov. In 2001-2004 he was CEO of DSK Bank and at the beginning of 2005 he became Chief Executive Director of DZI Bank. He is a professor at the University of National and World Economy.
