28 Migrants Found in Burning Truck near Border with Turkey

Bourgas, March 23 (BTA) - Twenty-eight migrants were found in a burning truck near the Rezovo Village at the Bulgarian-Turkish border, the Regional Directorate of the Interior in Bourgas said.

The Sofia-registered vehicle was found near a forest road and was loaded with grovel. The fire was suppressed by a team of three firemen. The driver's cabin has fully brunt out. A subsequent inspection found 28 irregular migrants in a secret compartment of the vehicle.

The driver of the truck had run away from the scene and is unaccounted for. According to witnesses, the truck went on fire while moving.

The migrants were taken to the Border Police Department in Malko Turnovo.
