National Book Centre Presents Second Catalogue of Children's Books from Bulgaria

Sofia, April 1 (BTA) - The National Book Centre with the National Palace of Culture presented its second catalogue "Children's Books from Bulgaria: Contemporary Writers and Artists". The catalogue is published to aid the development of the Bulgarian fiction and book illustrations for children and show to the foreign audience, agents and publishing houses that children's literature develops actively in Bulgaria.

The catalogue is in English and has four sections. The first section, Books by Bulgarian Writers, has 20 books and three book series, each with three volumes, divided in five age groups. The second section, Books by Foreign Writers Illustrated by Bulgarian Artists, has four books. The next section, Past and Future, presents projects that show established traditions in children's and teen fiction and book illustrations, and innovative projects that merit special attention. This third section presents four publications. The last section, Artists, presents the artists who did the illustrations of the books included in the catalogue.

The catalogue will be press-launched at the Bologna Children's Book Fair which takes place in April 3-6.
