Trade Union Wants New Cabinet Soon

Sofia, April 3 (BTA) - The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) wants to see a stable government formed soon so as to complete the key reforms in the judiciary, health care and other sectors.

Bulgaria's Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2018 is the top priority, according to a position adopted by CITUB's Coordination Council. Sofia should spell out its priorities in the interest of an enhanced European integration policy and of the economic and social advancement of Bulgarian society.

The trade union expects the social partners to hold timely discussions of the 2018 budget.

The document says: "The national reform programme which is being updated and drafted should plan very important measures and steps in the economy, the labour market, social policy and legislation to address the European Commission's country-specific requirements [under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism]."

The CITUB insists on constructive, responsible and effective partnership and on resumption of social dialogue on all important strategic economic and social policies.
