Health Minister to Submit Report
on Financial State of Hospitals Twice
Yearly

Sofia, June 9 (BTA) - Parliament resolved in a 129-7 vote with
56 abstentions Friday that the Health Minister is to submit
twice in the year, in June and December, a report on the current
financial state of state- and municipal-owned hospitals to the
parliamentary Healthcare Committee.

Furthermore, by the end of 2017, the Health Minister is to
report to the Committee on the readiness to introduce unified
management standards for  state- and municipal-owned hospitals
and to have statutory mechanisms for control of their
implementation.

Also by the end of the year, the Health Minister is to present a
concept vis-a-vis the provision and development of medical
staff.

Within two years, the Health Minister is to carry out what is
necessary for the introduction of a unified health information
system to ensure transparency, control and effective spending in
 the sector.

The MPs voted down a motion by the Bulgarian Socialist Party
requiring the Health Minister to present by September 1, 2017 a
strategy to ensure and develop state- and municipal-run health
care, and by the end of the year, a new health map.
