Air Traffic Control Registers Record-high Number of Flights at Bourgas Airport

Sofia, July 18 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA) registered a record-high number of flights at Bourgas Airport on Saturday. The local air traffic controllers have safely serviced 272 flights in just one day, which has set a record for Bulgarian airports, BULATSA said on Tuesday.

Around 3,000 aircraft fly over Bulgaria, land or take off from Bulgarian international airports each day. The Bourgas air traffic controllers worked very professionally and ensured the prompt and safe servicing of air traffic during the busiest of times for Bulgarian airports. The summer season poses a serious challenge for Bulgaria's airports along its Black Sea coast due to the increased number of tourists.

BULATSA services air traffic over Bulgaria and its delegated air space over the Black Sea, as well as this country's five international airports - Sofia, Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv and Gorna Oryahovitsa.

BULATSA's leadership thanks their colleagues for their professionalism, responsibility and safe work.
