Sofia, August 6 (BTA) - The food wholesale market index increased by 1.75 per cent up to 1.332 points in the past week, the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets reported.

In the past week, the average wholesale price of greenhouse tomatoes increased by 1.6 per cent to 1.24 leva per kilogramme. Garden tomatoes depreciated by 10.8 per cent to 1.07 leva/kg. The price of greenhouse cucumbers dropped by 10.5 per cent to 1.11 lv/kg, while ones growin in the open traded at 1.25 leva/kg. Potatoes traded at 0.55 lv/kg and green peppers at 1.13 lv/kg. Carrots were traded at 0.72 leva/kg. Cabbage lost 4.3 per cent and traded at 0.64 leva/kg.

The average wholesale price of apples was 1.42 lv/kg. Lemons gained 1.7 per cent to 3.01leva/kg. Water melons lost 34.3 per cent to 0.23 leva/kg. Apricots and peaches traded at 1.09 lv/kg.

White brined cheese from cow's milk appreciated by the 0.5 per cent and was traded at 6.05 lv/kg, and yellow kashkaval cheese of the Vitosha type cost 10.05 lv/kg. Sunflower oil was selling at 2.11 leva per litre. The price of minced meat was 4.75 lv/kg. Frozen chicken traded at 3.80 lv/kg. Sugar lost 1.3 per cent traded at 1.55 lv/kg. Flour, type 500, gained 1.2 per cent and traded at 0.82 lv/kg. Dry common beans cost 3.25 lv/kg. The price of eggs traded at 0.17 leva apiece.
