Odessa/Sofia, February 3 (BTA) - Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov and a delegation of Bulgarian parliamentarians visited the Odessa Region and conferred with the Governor, Maksim Stepnov, Simeonov's parliamentary secretary said on Saturday.

Simeonov thanked the Ukrainian authorities for the assistance they rendered in the organization and conduct of the 2017-2018 university admission campaign for students of Bulgarian ethnic origin willing to study in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria also highly appreciates the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities for repairing the road between Odessa and Reni which is important for the contacts between Bulgarian and Ukrainian citizens, tourism and business.

The Bulgarian delegation visited the Bulgarian general consulate in Odessa and held talks about the fund-raising campaign for a monument of Bulgarian writer Ivan Vazov in Odessa. The delegation also attended a ground-breaking ceremony for the monument.
