site.btaPM Borissov Confers with Bank for International Settlements Head Carstens

July 8 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov conferred
here on Monday with the General Manager of the Bank for
International Settlements (BIS), Agustin Carstens, Cabinet's
press service reported.

The meeting, which was also attended by Bulgarian National Bank
(BNB) Governor Dimiter Radev, focused on current issues related
to global economic processes, the perspectives for the European
economies and international financial markets.

Carstens is in Sofia in connection with the commemoration of
BNB's 140th anniversary.

BIS is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. The bank was
established in 1930 and is the oldest international financial
institution in the world. BIS is owned by 60 central banks,
representing countries from around the world that together
account for about 95 per cent of world GDP. RY/MY
