Trans-border Cooperation as Factor Guaranteeing
Security in Europe


July 18 (BTA) - Bulgarian Interior Minister Mladen Marinov participated in an informal meeting of the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council in Helsinki which discussed the internal security in the EU, Marinov's Ministry said in a press release Thursday.

At the meeting Marinov spoke about the importance of the working trans-border cooperation. He said that the European agencies need to uphold and develop their main mission of aiding the member states in implementing the priorities of the EU agenda. In Marinov's words, this support is especially important in respect of interoperability, training and modern technologies.

During the panel on the future of the EU migration policy Marinov stressed the need to reform the regulations about granting shelter and for improvement of the management of the migration process in order to avert future crises and adequately address current ones. IG/ZH//
