Vratsa, Northwestern Bulgaria, September 22 (BTA) - Unit 6 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant has been shut down for annual scheduled maintenance which will continue from September 22 to October 31, the N-plant said in a press release on Saturday.

During that period, the unit's equipment and systems will be repaired and will undergo preventive maintenance, and the reactor will be reloaded with fresh nuclear fuel.

While the repairs are in progress, activities related to the long-term operation of the unit will continue to be carried out, the press release says.

Kozloduy Unit 5 is operating at 100 per cent capacity. LN/LG
