September 27 (BTA) - "Bulgaria should be far more
active in promoting on site in the US the opportunities for
doing business in our country," Bulgarian President Rumen Radev
told journalists, quoted by his Press Secretariat on Friday,
after a working meeting in New York, organized by the Business
Council for International Understanding.

Taking part in the event were executives of globally leading
American companies in communications, IT, finance, energy and
the defence industry. The idea of the meeting was to achieve
better results in Bulgarian-US investment cooperation and to
attract the interest of high value added sector businesses to
investing in Bulgaria.

The head of State singled out the availability of skilled
professionals and a competitive tax framework as part of
Bulgaria's advantages.

Radev told journalists that Bulgaria and the US are deepening
their strategic partnership, which benefits particularly the
sphere of security and defence. "Our aspiration is that this
cooperation should become full-fledged in all other activities,
too, and especially in investments and high technology
transfer," the President said. He added that this requires
dialogue at a high political level and tangible support for
business. RY/LG
