site.btaInvestment Fund Assets Drop by 9.3% Over First Quarter

May 21 (BTA) - At the end of March 2020, the assets managed by domestic and foreign investment funds operating in Bulgaria amount to 3,919.9 million leva, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) informed on Thursday.

Year on year, the size of these assets has dropped by 232.3 million leva (5.6 per cent), and by 401.8 million (9.3 per cent) compared to December of 2019.

As part of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the total asset size of domestic and foreign investment funds as of March 2020 amounts to 3.1 per cent of GDP, down from 3.5 per cent in March 2019 and 3.6 per cent at the end of 2019.

At the end of the first quarter of 2020, the assets of domestic investment funds amount to 1,602.2 million leva which is a year-on-year increase by 40.8 million (2.6 per cent). Compared to December 2019, the assets have decreased by 109 million leva (6.4 per cent). RI/MT
