site.btaMinister Tahov to Take Part in EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council Meeting on Jan. 27

Bulgaria's Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov will take part in a meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council on January 27 in Brussels, Tahov's Ministry said in a press release on Sunday. 

The ministers are expected to discuss a proposed regulation amending the common market organization as regards the strengthening of the position of farmers in the food supply chain. They will also exchange views on trade-related agricultural issues and the need for further simplification of the Common Agricultural Policy’s green architecture.

The Polish presidency will give a public presentation of its work programme and outline its main priorities in the field of agriculture and fisheries for the coming six months.

This will be the first meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council for 2025, with the next one being scheduled for February 24. The Council last met on December 9 and 10, 2024.
