site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 2,434 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 15.3%

Sofia, April 20  (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 388,815 after 15,952 tests identified 2,434
new infections on Monday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
15.26 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 522 positive
tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 264 cases and Stara
Zagora Region with 186.

The active cases are 62,481. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 8,834, including 780 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 12,884, with 35 new
cases detected since Sunday.

Another 4,244 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 310,922.

Two hundred and seventeen fatalities were reported, and the
death toll now adds up to 15,412.

With 7,044 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 645,486
persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 131,069 have received both doses. NV/LG
