PACE Delegation to Carry Out
Pre-Electoral Mission
to Sofia


Sofia, September 17 (BTA) - A four-member delegation of the
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by
Doris Fiala (Switzerland, ALDE), will carry out a pre-electoral
mission to Sofia on September 18-19 to assess the election
campaign and political climate prior to the early parliamentary
elections in Bulgaria on October 5, PACE said.

The delegation is due to meet the President of the Republic, the
Prime Minister, parliamentary groups and representatives of
registered parties and coalitions.

Meetings are also planned with the Chairperson of the
Constitutional Court, the Chairperson of the Central Election
Commission and with representatives of the international
community, NGOs and the media.

In addition to Fiala, the delegation will also comprise Guiseppe
Galati (Italy, EPP/CD), Zbigniew Girzynski (Poland, EDG) and
Olga-Nantia Valavani (Greece, UEL).
