OP Regional Development
to be Restored within Month


Sofia, December 4 (BTA) - Payments under Operational Programme
Regional Development will be re-started within a month at the
latest although there is another audit mission on December 8,
Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds and Economic Policy Tomislav
Donchev said on Thursday referring to an announcement at a news
conference in Brussels.

European Commission Vice President and Budget and Human
Resources Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva also said that
payments under the programme will be restored during a meeting
with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in Brussels.

On June 3, 2014, the European Commission's DG for Regional and
Urban policy notified the Managing Authority of OP Regional
Development that it has suspended the funding within Priority
Axis 1 "Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development" and
Priority Axis 3 "Sustainable Tourism Development" over audit
reports carried out in the 2010-2013 period. /PK/TK/
