Sofia, December 28 (BTA) - Some 7.7 kg of heroin was seized by
customs inspectors at the Kapitan Andreevo Checkpoint on
Bulgaria's border with Turkey, the National Customs Agency said
on Sunday.

The narcotic is worth some 800,000 leva at prices used for the
administration of justice. It was found during a check of the
storage compartment of a Bulgarian-plated passenger car. The
beige powder, which tested positive for heroin, was distributed
in 15 brown sellotaped packages inserted in three boxes of
baklava and sweets.

On entry from Turkey into Bulgaria, the driver and his companion
said they had nothing to declare and that they carried only
personal belongings. PK/LG
