American Violinist Pitcairn to
Play in
Sofia


Sofia, January 7 (BTA) - American violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn
is the soloist artist in a second winter concert of the cycle
"The Music of America" on January 30 in Sofia's Bulgaria Hall,
organizers of the event said. The concert will be conducted by
Maxim Eshkenazy. The concert cycle is organized with the America
for Bulgaria Foundation.

Pitcairn is one of the most liked US violin soloists. She is
also noted for performing on the 1721 Red Mendelssohn
Stradivarius violin that is said to have inspired the film The
Red Violin which has won an Academy Award.

In Sofia Pitcairn will play Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in
G minor. The programme also includes Beethoven's Symphony No.5
and "Earth Rites" of young American composer Roger Przytulski.
This will be the world's premiere of Przytulski's work composed
especially for the Classic FM Orchestra which will play in the
