Tsvetan Tsvetkov Elected National Audit Office Head

Sofia, March 26 (BTA) - Parliament Thursday elected Tsvetan
Tsvetkov President of the National Audit Office on a vote of
146:1 and 21 abstentions. Tsvetkov, who was nominated by the
Reformist Bloc and GERB, was sworn in.

Patriotic Front floor leader Valeri Simeonov on Wednesday
withdrew his group's nominee Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva, thus
leaving Tsvetkov as the only running candidate.

From the rostrum in Parliament Simeonov said that the Front does
not call into question the professional qualities and integrity
of Kozhareva, "but it was better to show that the Audit Office
is a non-partisan body and has the right to garner the broadest
parliamentary support."

Simeonov said that Tsvetkov promised to appoint
Grancharova-Kozhareva as his deputy, corroborating suggestions
by opposition MPs about a party deal.
