Bulgaria to Render Material, Financial Aid to Georgia in Coping with Aftermath of Devastating Flood

Tbilisi, June 17 (BTA) - Bulgaria will render material and
financial aid to Georgia in coping with the aftermath of the
June 13 devastating flood in Tbilisi, Bulgarian President Rosen
Plevneliev said Wednesday, emerging from a meeting with Georgian
counterpart Giorgi Margvelashvili. Plevneliev arrived on a
two-day official visit to Georgia, the first visit of a
Bulgarian head of State there in fifteen years.

Plevneliev expressed condolences for the victims of the flood.
"We are with the people of Georgia at this moment when a natural
disaster claimed human lives. We had a similar situation a year
ago in Bulgaria where floodings claimed dozens of lives and
caused huge material damage. We see the same in Tbilisi now and
we will help Georgia recover as soon as possible," Plevneliev
said.
