Eurostat: Bulgaria Unemployment at 9.6% in June

Brussels, July 31 (BTA) - The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Bulgaria in June 2015 was 9.6 per cent, compared with 9.7 per cent in May 2015 and 11.4 per cent in June 2014, the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) reported on Friday. There were 320,000 unemployed Bulgarians in June 2015.

Youth (under-25s) unemployment in Bulgaria stood at 18.8 per cent in June 2015 compared with 19.6 per cent in May 2015 and 23.7 per cent in June 2014.

The EU28 seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 9.6 per cent in June 2015, stable compared with May 2015 and down from 10.2 per cent in June 2014. The euro area unemployment rate was 11.1 per cent in June 2015, also stable compared with May 2015 and down from 11.6 per cent in June 2014.

Among EU member states, the lowest unemployment rates in June 2015 were recorded in Germany (4.7 per cent) and the Czech Republic (4.9 per cent), and the highest in Greece (25.6 per cent in April 2015) and Spain (22.5 per cent).
