Bulgaria, France Interior Ministers Sign Declaration to Boost Specialized Services Cooperation

Paris, December 9 (BTA) - The interior ministers of Bulgaria and France Tuesday signed a joint declaration to boost cooperation between specialized services. "In just a few months after my visit in April we succeeded in drafting and coordinating this important framework of our cooperation," Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova said at the signing of the document, her ministry's information service said.

Buchvarova and French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said this is an important step in the line of security which provides the guidelines for the main fields of boosting cooperation between the police forces of the two countries meeting the present challenges before national and international security.

Before that the two ministers had a working meeting focused on security, migration and the fight against terrorism. The latest challenges before security and the opportunities to increase interaction and information exchange in countering illegal migrant and arms trafficking, terrorism and radicalization.

Exchange of experience related to the preparation of Bulgaria's EU presidency in the second half of 2018 was also included as a priority field, the press release said.
