Prime Ministers of Bulgaria, Bavaria Discuss Economy, Investments, Protection of External Borders

Sofia, December 11 (BTA) - All current matters, including the economic growth, investments and protection of external borders, featured on the agenda of Friday's talks between the prime ministers of Bulgaria and Bavaria, Boyko Borissov and Horst Seehofer.

In a statement after the meeting, the Bavarian Prime Minister said that the two countries have the same opinion about the policy on refugees which should be conducted in the future. He said they will continue to do everything within their power to deepen the bilateral relations, most of all in the economic sphere. In his words, all the reforms taking place in Bulgaria are very important for investors and they can trust this country. "We have before us a very successful and very content prime minister," he said, adding that he had congratulated Borissov on the policy the Bulgarian PM is conducting.

Borissov said that the interaction and trust between Bulgaria and Bavaria should be at the highest level, and expressed the hope that the statements he and Seehofer made in Sofia would reach additional Bavarian and German companies who would invest in Bulgaria's machine building, automobile building or in any sphere they are interested in.

As part of the Bavarian Prime Minister's official visit to Bulgaria, he and Borissov had a one-on-one meeting at the Council of Ministers and the two countries' delegations held a plenary sitting. The Bulgarian side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister for Coalition Policy and Public Administration and Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova, Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds and Economic Policy Tomislav Donchev, and Regional Development and Public Works Minister Liliyana Pavlova. The Bavarian side was represented by Minister of the Interior, for Building and Transport Joachim Herrmann, Minister of European Affairs and Regional Relations Beate Merk, and Bavarian Police President Wilhelm Schmidbauer.
