More than 500 Doctors Have Left Bulgaria in 2015

Sofia, December 15 (BTA) - So far this year 505 doctors have left the country, including 284 medical specialists, the Bulgarian Medical Association said (BMA).

There is a slight upward trend in the number of doctors leaving Bulgaria, and it is a cause for concern that many of them have just graduated.

On Tuesday the BMA is presenting 61 grants to unsalaried young interns and doctoral students. This is the fourth year that the BMA has provided grants of 400 leva a month (around 200 euro) for one year as part of a policy of motivating young doctors to stay in Bulgaria.
