Bulgarian Transport Minister Moskovski Confers with Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri

Tehran/Sofia, March 10 (BTA) - Bulgarian Transport, Information Technology and Communications Minister Ivailo Moskovski conferred on March 9 with Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, Moskovski's Ministry said in a press release. The meeting was held during a visit of a Bulgarian delegation led by Moskovski at the 18th Session of the Bulgarian-Iranian Mixed Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation which is took place in Iran from March 6 to 9.

Jahangiri confirmed the agreements reached at the meetings of the Mixed Commission and expressed satisfaction with the progress in the bilateral relations.

Moskovski said that Bulgaria attaches special importance to the development of its ties with Iran. The Minister singled out the priority areas for cooperation which include trade, transport, energy and tourism. Moskovski said that Bulgaria works for normalizing the financial and banking cooperation between the two countries and actively informs the banking sector about the lifted restrictions against Iran in the financial, banking and insurance business.

Moskovski again stressed the key role of transport in increasing the commercial exchange and noted the importance of the development of the multi-modal transport corridor connecting Iran and Bulgaria across the Black Sea, and on to the countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
