Bulgaria, Russia Sign Protocol of Cooperation in Agriculture

Sofia, July 7 (BTA) - Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Tsvetan Dimitrov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Levin have signed a protocol from the first sitting of the Bulgarian-Russian working group for cooperation in agriculture, which took place at the Black Sea resort of St. Vlas, Bourgas Region, Dimitrov's ministry said Thursday.

The participants in the sitting discussed the results and prospects for trade and economic cooperation, and agreed to develop joint activity aimed at broadening the business contacts between the organizations of agricultural producers.

In the sphere of stock breeding, Bulgaria and Russia will cooperate in the breeding of cattle, as well as in meat and milk sheep breeding. They will carry out regular exchange of experience regarding matters related to the storing of genetic resources and biodiversity in stock breeding. Among the other spheres of cooperation are wine production, vine growing and fish husbandry.

The second meeting of the Bulgarian-Russian working group will be held in Russia.
