Economy Minister Loukarski:
What Is Happening in Turkey Will Have Negative Impact
on Bilateral Trade, Economic Relations

Sofia, July 21 (BTA) - Economy Minister Bozhidar Loukarski told journalists here on Thursday that what is happening in Turkey will have a negative impact on bilateral trade and economic relations.

The Economy Minister described the situation in Turkey as very dynamic, adding that a drop in the trade balance can be expected, along with all kinds of downsides related to bilateral trade and economic relations. He was speaking during a news conference on the occasion of the annual meeting of the trade and economic advisors in the Bulgarian trade and economic services.

Loukarski explained that, due to the dynamic situation in Turkey, it would be hard to estimate the negative impact in terms of numbers and severity.

Commenting the impact of Brexit on Bulgaria, he recalled that there are a minimum of two years before Britain leaves the EU, which will be marked by various dynamic movements, making it impossible to project right now how they will reflect on Bulgaria.

The Minister noted that the registered export growth of 5.3 per cent last year in the economy and foreign investments is due to the trade and economic services' work. He noted that the EU Member States remain Bulgaria's leading partners, along with Turkey, China, Macedonia, Serbia, US and Russia. VI/MY
