Bulgaria, Vietnam Discuss Economic Prospects after Liberalization of Trade with EU

Sofia, November 30 (BTA) - Officials of Bulgaria and Vietnam discussed opportunities for cooperation after the liberalization of Vietnam-EU trade. "The signing of a free trade agreement between the EU and Vietnam will speed up the development of the investment and the trade potential of relations between Bulgaria and Vietnam and will mobilize the efforts of the business communities of the two countries," said Bulgarian Deputy Economy Minister Lyuben Petrov during a bilateral business discussion Wednesday, said Petrov's Ministry.

Bulgaria expects the liberalization of trade for commodities that dominate two-way trade such as grains, wine, tobacco products, medicines, chemicals, fertilizers, machines and machine components.

It also expects improved market access and rules in trade with services (telecommunications, financial, postal, IT and transport) and public procurement, as well as better protection for geographic indications in Vietnam.
