Government to Extend Lv 8 Mln in Targeted Financing to Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 2017

Sofia, December 5 (BTA) - The government will extend 8.3 million leva in targeted financing to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) in 2017, it emerged after a meeting Monday between newly elected BAS President Yulian Revalski, Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

Some 5.8 million leva will go towards young researchers and doctoral candidates and projects in the area of demographic policies, seismic risk studies, new educational approacher and teacher training. In addition, the Energy Ministry will finance with 2.5 million leva projects in the field of energy efficiency under various funds, said Revalski.

The new BAS President said he had he received assurances from Prime Minister Boyko Borissov that all activities suggested by BAS and approved by the outgoing government will be continued by the successive governments as they are of use to the public.
