Government Opens New Concession Procedure for Plovdiv Airport

Sofia, December 28 (BTA) - The government decided Wednesday to open a new procedure for selling a concession for the Plovdiv Airport in southern Bulgaria. The concession is offered for a period of 35 years.

The reason for the fresh start of the procedure is that no bidders showed up at the first concession procedure.

It will be held in keeping with the new European requirements for contracting concessions.

The Bulgarian government hopes that this will help attract more potential investors.

An announcement of the concession procedure will be published in the Official Journal of the EU. All documents will be available at no cost on the website of the Bulgarian Transport Ministry.
