Turkey Blocs Checkpoints on Bulgarian Border to Prevent Reina Nightclub Attacker from Escaping

Sofia, January 4 (BTA special by Nahide Deniz) - Turkey has blocked roads in the area around Kirklareli that lead to the border with Bulgaria over fears that the Reina nightclub attacker may escape to Europe via Bulgaria. Authorities have announced a code of high alert.

The Haberler website reported that special units will check outbound and inbound cars and passengers at the exits of Kirklareli.

The border crossing at Derekoy-Malko Turnovo has been put on alert and police reinforcements have been sent.
