Yes, Bulgaria! Alerts Election Authorities of  Violations by Media Outlet Connected to MP Delyan Peevski

Sofia, March 15 (BTA) - The recently established party Yes, Bulgaria! has alerted the Central Election Commission of violations of the election legislation by "Telegraf" daily which is connected to controversial businessman/politician Delyan Peevski. The plaintiffs argue that the said media outlet has invested a huge resource in a smear campaign against themselves.

"Telegraf" recently put out a book entitled "Thieves of Democracy" aimed to disgrace the MP candidates of Yes, Bulgaria! ahead of the March 26 general elections. According to expert estimates, the book cost over 200,000 leva to produce. This is more than the entire campaign budget of Yes, Bulgaria!, the party says.

The publication of the book violated "a number of imperative prohibitions connected with the campaigning for the March 26 parliamentary elections". The violations were committed by Telegraf EOOD, the company which publishes the daily of the same name, and by Delyan Peevski "who is connected with the said company and exercises control over its ownership and management", reads the alert to the Central Election Commission.

"Thieves of Democracy" is distributed free of charge to a national readership.
