President Radev Confers with Management of E-Government State Agency

Sofia, May 22 (BTA) - The electronic government is a strategic priority of Bulgaria, an irreversible process and the only way to attain goals of critical importance: effectiveness, transparency, success in tackling corruption, accountability and control, President Rumen Radev said during a working meeting Monday with the management of the E-Government State Agency, Radev's press secretariat said.

Radev expressed readiness to support any initiative that will facilitate and accelerate the process of digital transformation of the Bulgarian administration to the benefit of the members of the public and the business.

The participants in the meeting discussed the opportunities for electronic health care, minimizing the risks of wrongdoing in public procurement by offering digital procedures, and integrating the national architecture of e-government with that of the other EU member states.

The Chairman of the Agency, Rossen Zhelyazkov, familiarized Radev with the priorities, goals, main activities of the Agency and the challenges in developing e-government in Bulgaria.

The two officials concurred that e-government should be a priority of not only the Agency but of all institutions.
