site.btaPrime Minister Borissov Pays Tribute to Late German Chancellor Helmut Kohl

Strasbourg, July 1 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov attended here on Saturday the ceremony in memory of the late German chancellor, Helmut Kohl, who passed away on June 16 at the age of 87.

Borissov signed the book of condolences, describing Kohl as a remarkable European, Cabinet's press service reported.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister also tweeted a farewell to Kohl, which reads: "Helmut Kohl is amongst the leaders whose work and contribution led to the increased opportunities we have in Europe today. Farewell!"

The ceremony in Kohl's memory, who is regarded as being among the politicians with the biggest contribution to European integration, was held in the European Parliament building and attended by many former and current political leaders from across the world.
