Sofia, July 6 (BTA) - People who sustained cervical vertebra fractures in Wednesday's two multi-vehicle pile-up collisions on Trakia Motorway are in life-threatening condition, according to reports by Sofia's St Anna Hospital and Pirogov Emergency Hospital. An 80-year-old woman hospitalized at Pirogov is in serious condition as well.

Two injured Serbian kids who were at the St Anna Hospital were eventually checked out, said the director of the establishment, Slavcho Bliznakov.

The two pile-ups on Trakia Motorway occurred in low visibility conditions due to smoke coming from a burning waste dump near Ihtiman, Sofia Region, the Road Infrastructure Agency reported. Later, traffic was restored both ways but driving speeds were reduced. No fatalities were reported.
