National News Agencies of Bulgaria and the Netherlands Sign Cooperation Agreement

Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Кiril Valchev and Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau (ANP) CEO Martijn Bennis signed an agreement between the two national news agencies in Toronto during the 35th conference of MINDS International Media Innovation Network. Bennis is currently Chair of the Board of MINDS International, an association of 25 leading news agencies from around the world for cooperation in information services.
Under the agreement, the first one between the national news agencies of Bulgaria and the Netherlands, they give each other rights to access and publish news feeds.
"More directly exchanged news between the national news agencies of the Netherlands and Bulgaria will help us to know each other better. People's fears of each other diminish and trust grows when they know each other better. In this particular moment, it may also prove useful for the two countries to be together sooner without obstacles to freedom of movement in the Schengen area of the European Union," Kiril Valchev said.
BTA joined MINDS International at its 32nd conference in Helsinki in April 2022.
ANP is the largest news agency in the Netherlands. It was founded on December 11, 1934 by the Dutch Newspapers Publishers' Association.

BTA Signs Cooperation Agreement with Latvia's LETA News Agency
TORONTO, 06.10.2023
A cooperation agreement between the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the national information agency of Latvia, LETA, was signed by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and LETA Executive Director Juris Mendzins. The document was signed in Toronto during the 35th conference of MINDS International Media Innovation Network - an association of 25 leading news agencies from around the world for cooperation in the field of information services.
The agreement stipulates that each side receives the other's full set of English-language news feeds, and both sides have the right to use this information in their news services.
In addition, each of the two agencies will provide the other with a daily briefing on a significant news story from its country, with English text and a photograph, which the other agency will post on its distribution channels with free access to all visitors to the respective websites, provided the source is explicitly acknowledged.
The agreement also provides for the possibility of exchanges of experience and professional visits by journalists and other media professionals from both news agencies.
