The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in constant contact with Bulgarian nationals and their family members who have expressed their wish to receive assistance for their return to Bulgaria through the Bulgarian Embassy in Beirut and the Situation Centre Directorate, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Saturday.

Various options are currently being explored to ensure Bulgarians' safe departure from the country.

The ministry pointed out that in connection with the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and in Lebanon in particular, the caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and the caretaker Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov are in constant communication. On the instructions of the Prime Minister, a working group has been set up in the Foreign Ministry, which also includes representatives of other institutions, whose main task is to coordinate and propose the most appropriate option for the transfer of Bulgarian citizens and their family members from Lebanon, the ministry said. "The Prime Minister's instructions are a full mobilization of the state in the interest of preserving the lives and health of Bulgarian citizens," the Foreign Ministry added.
