A voter turnout of around 48% is expected for the June 9 snap parliamentary elections and 45% for the EU elections on the same date, according to an opinion poll by the Trend agency, commissioned by the 24 Chasa daily. According to analysts, the remaining days of the campaign will determine which formation comes in second, third, and fourth place.

The survey was carried out among 1,003 adult Bulgarians between May 11 and 18.

For the parliamentary elections, the poll shows no structural change in voters’ attitudes. Out of those intending to vote, 26.1% would support GERB-UDF, 15.4% Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria, 14.9% the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, 14.8% Vazrazhdane, the Bulgarian Socialist Party 8.5%, and There Is Such a People 5.5%. According to the pollsters, to remain below the threshold for entry in Parliament are: Bulgarian Solidarity Coalition with 2.4%, Blue Bulgaria with 1.8%, The Left! With 1.4%, Bulgarian Rise with 1.2%, and VMRO with 1.1%. Just over 5%  intend to select the I Support No One option.

For the European Parliament elections, the most votes are expected to go to GERB-UDF, 25.9%, followed by Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria with 16.1%, Vazrazhdane with 15.1%, the Bulgarian Socialist Party with 8.1%, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms with 14.6%, and There Is Such a People with 5.5%.  The Bulgarian Solidarity Coalition is expected to garner 2.1% of the votes, Blue Bulgaria 1.8%, The Left! 1.2%, Bulgarian Rise 1.2%, and VMRO 1.2%. I Support No One is the preferred option for 5.3%, the opinion poll shows.

Analysts point out that because of the small differences in the percentages of the second, third and fourth in the ranking and because of the possibility to vote in parliamentary elections in countries outside the European Union, the ranking of the formations in the parliamentary and European elections could be different.
