Over 60 participants have sent their poems in the first edition of the haiku poetry competition entitled Contemplations in the Ayazmoto, said the Stara Zagora Municipality press service on Thursday. Poets as young as high-schoolers and as old as 70 will have their art evaluated by a jury of members of the Bulgarian Haiku Union.

The competition is organized by the Bulgarian Haiku Union and Dolap.bg in cooperation with the Stara Zagora Municipality on occasion of the International Haiku Poetry Day, April 17. The competition is also part of the celebrations that mark 130 years since the beginning of the afforestation of the emblematic Ayazmoto Park in Stara Zagora.
