Young people aged under 26 should be exempted from income tax, said Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova, who is also her party's top-of-the-list candidate for the June 9, 2024 national elections in Sofia and Blagoevgrad. She was speaking at a meeting with voters in the Sofia and was quoted by the BSP press center said on Tuesday.

"We helped young families with children by cutting their taxes. Now we will continue with tax exemptions for those working up to the age of 26. We also want a one-off childbirth allowance of minimum 10 minimum salaries. The demographic crisis is being fought with real measures, not empty promises," Ninova said.

Ninova presented party's programme for the upcoming national and European elections and answered many questions on the economy and income, the Green Deal, the development of agriculture, health and education. She put particular emphasis on youth policy.
