The American open water swimming Kaiwi Channel Association awarded a certificate to Bulgarian athlete Tsanko Tsankov for successfully swimming one of the most difficult swimming marathons of the Ocean 7 circuit in the Hawaiian Channel from the Molokai Islands to Oahu, said the manager of the Bulgarian swimmer Nikolay Iliev.

A day after successfully finishing the longest of all seven swimming marathons, Tsankov deservedly received the important document from Bill Goding, a member of the KCA.

The Bulgarian swimmer was congratulated by the association on his success, and the captain of the lead boat, Ivan Shigaki, received a special T-shirt from Tsankov as a gesture of gratitude for their work together.

Captain Shigaki said that Tsankov made an amazing swim in very rough ocean conditions, and commended his discipline and perseverance.

Tsankov and his team are leaving Honolulu on Tuesday and should arrive in Sofia on Thursday.
