Lyubomir Ganev was elected for a second four-year term as President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF) on Saturday. During a BVF general meeting in Sofia, the legendary former volleyball player won the majority of votes, thus prevailing over his only opponent in the election, Ivan Seferinov, President of the Slavia Sofia Volleyball Club.
Ganev, 58, was supported by 103 delegates out of 115 who voted for president. The two-time Olympian was elected for his first term as BVF president in 2020 after serving as vice president for nearly a decade.
After his re-election, he said he will continue to do everything he can for the sport that he loves. He noted that under the BVF Statutes, a person can serve as federation president for no more than two terms, so these will be his last four years at the helm.
Saturday's general meeting also elected two BVF vice presidents and a 17-member governing board.
