Bulgarian National Team Ranks Second at Open Kyokushin-Kan European Championships

The national team of Bulgaria came second at the Open Kyokushin-Kan European Championships in Cluj Napoca, Romania, BTA learned from the chairman and head coach of Ruse's Ippon sports club, Sensei Miroslav Barbov. He added that 600 athletes from 25 countries competed in different ages and categories of kata and kumite. 

Bulgaria was represented by 65 athletes who won a total of 43 medals: 9 gold, 16 silver and 18 bronze medals,  according to data on the tournament's official website. Ippon's representatives won six of the medals.

Romania topped the overall ranking with 20 gold, 18 silver and 44 bronze medals.
