Three Bulgarian baseball players, Stefan Beshkov, Dimitar Nasapov and Teodor Karakashev, set a new Guinness world record for most baseball ground balls fielded in one minute. The Bulgarian trio fielded 12 balls in 60 seconds at October Stadium in Sofia on July 6, 2024.

The previous world record was 11, achieved by Americans Jake Aaron, Andrew Williams and Barry Epstein in Dallas, Texas on June 16, 2022.

According to the Guinness World Records’ requirements, the Bulgarian record attempt was made in the presence of two witnesses, two timekeepers, a cameraman and a photographer. All the documents and the video footage have now been submitted to the online platform of the Guinness World Records. Ratification of the record is expected to take place in the coming months.
