Bulgarian athlete Kevin Penev finished his run at the International Gymnastics Federation World Challenge Cup 2024 in Osijek, Croatia, with three medals. A score of 13.950 got Penev the bronze in the floor event on April 6, while the following day he won another bronze in the vault event with a score of 14.300. Again on April 7, he got the gold medal in the still rings event with a score of 13.250.
Penev commented on his performance, saying: "I did not expect that I will win the gold medal in the still rings. My expectations were that my performances in the floor and vault could win medals, as I performed my new vault. My floor performance also had a higher difficulty level."
Penev will represent Bulgaria at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. He is optimistic that his brother, Eddie Penev, can also earn a visa for the Olympics, as he is ambitious and trains hard.
